We came home one day and found the rodent had come out of the drain and was in the toilet. So one elder got his recently purchased airsoft gun and solved our rodent problem (Disclaimer: I don't support buying airsoft guns as a missionary; that was something that he did). The aforementioned rodent sign didn't stop though, so that warranted closer inspection. It turn out it's actually larva of some sort. We'll get that sorted out in time.
I've been talking to recent converts about their experiences, and it's really cool to hear. One of them told me about some protestant missionaries that taught her in her home. She was vaguely interested, but eventually stopped meeting with them. Some time later, the LDS missionaries taught her and she felt something different, something that made her want to change and learn more. She'd had a heavy drinking habit for a few years, and it had caused many big problems. When she went to church and saw the people there, she thought "Yes, now is the time to make a change." She said that she was able to quit drinking right away, and felt supported with a strength beyond her own.
The gospel of Christ has real power to make real changes in people's lives. I feel privileged to be able to see it and participate in it.
Thank you all,
Elder Parish
1. We're doing family history. This was in my companion's line.
2. The Thai Ronald gives you a "wai" as you leave.
3. It's not a waterfall, but it was a pool at the beginning of the trail.
