We finally got to meet with Gang's family (the family that let us in for a bit and talk. Refer to Week 79.). Except they just moved out of our area, so we won't be teaching them. We got to meet them very briefly and give them a Book of Mormon though.
We met a new investigator, Sister Lek. She seems pretty solid and appreciated the message we shared. We'll see where she goes.
We had a lot of things fall through this week. But that was ok because we were setting up Sunday the whole time. We had so much going on, I wasn't sure if we could fit it all. Well, Sunday comes along and every one of our appointments fell through. I couldn't believe it. So we spent the time inviting, which just seemed more brutal and challenging than normal. We headed in at the end of the day beat and a bit low in spirits.
During personal study though, I read about the primitive church and the acts of the apostles. It filled me with hope that there is power in the gospel regardless of opposition we may face. I also read about their persecution in Acts 5:
40 ...and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
That was just the perfect thing to come across, and I was grateful for the comfort and direction that lies in the scriptures for each of us.
