Whew, this week blew by. We had some good things happen; people met, foundations laid, and lessons taught. We had several neat experiences with the Holy Ghost this week. A couple:
One really nice member has been making the elders individual meals to eat on Sundays. The food is really good, and we are really appreciative. The problem is, she lives a couple hours away, so by the time we eat it after church, it's not really safe to eat anymore (for white people, at least. Thai digestive tracks are used to that kind of abuse and don't have a problem). It took three P-days of diarrhea for us to pinpoint what the problem was. Well after figuring it out, we ended up with four servings of food on Sunday that we didn't want to eat, but didn't want to throw away. So what to do...? We decided to give it to some homeless people! (I want to re-emphasize that this would not cause said homeless people any discomfort. This is fact). It was perfect. So, we set out to find some people in need. I was really focused on finding homeless people, and then going inviting--exclusively in that order. But one of the first people that I passed by, Elder Young stopped and invited. And she was interested! Elder Young said he felt like he'd had a slight prompting to talk to her specifically. I actually had an inkling to as well, but brushed it aside because that's not what I had in mind. Three successful invites from Elder Young later, and I decided that I should be inviting too. The woman's name is Duck, and she's an awesome investigator with a lot of desire.
But, it was a good reminder to constantly be open and aware. And we wouldn't have met her if Elder Young hadn't been listening.
Another time, we were inviting in a neighborhood, and a man, Gang, invited us in to talk with his family. But then something came up and they had to leave shortly afterwards. So we got their phone number to re-schedule. But when we called, the number didn't work. So we biked out to their house again to get a new number, but they weren't home. We left down the street a ways and planned where to head next. It was kind of late, but a few people were out walking home. Elder Young noticed one woman, and thought it might be the wife that we met earlier. We back-tracked to see which house she went into, and she walked right up to the correct house! So we grabbed her and asked if she had Gang's number. She did, so we wrote it down again. The weird thing was that we'd never seen her before; Elder Young just felt like we should follow her.
We've been trying to teach the father of an RC, but have yet to have the opportunity. Well, when we got into the taxi to get to church yesterday, the driver told us that his son went to our church. It was the man we've been trying to meet. We were able to get to know him a bit, and ask if we could drop by and share a message. He accepted.
Getting short on time here. I want to share my witness that the Holy Ghost has influence in our lives, and that God is guiding our steps if we are trying to follow.
Until next time!

1. Us hanging up a new sign for the English class.
2. Us helping Brother Jane (an investigator with a date for the 5th) with his job so he'd have time to meet with us.
