Up in Laos, they're having a problem getting a church building all set up and in accordance with Laos government laws. Right now they don't have anywhere to teach investigators or go to church, so that leaves them with not a whole lot that they can do. So they sent a couple elders down to Thailand (here to Nongkhai) so they can do some work down. And one of those elders was Elder Cheney! So we get to work together in yet another province in Thailand, which is awesome.
On Wednesday we took a three-hour drive to visit that investigator family who lives so far away. It was a pretty good meeting, even though it took a really long time. They're progressing pretty well and are open to getting baptized. They really don't have a lot of money, and it's a pretty big sacrifice for them to travel to church every week. So we're concerned about making sure they're ready and have the faith to stay active before getting them baptized.
Anun, Sister Nad's uncle, shared with us his feelings about what we've taught. He told us when we got there that he'd stayed up almost all night reading in the Book of Mormon, and that he didn't even feel tired as he read until 5:00 in the morning. He said "I feel like the more I read, the more light I receive." The Book of Mormon truly has power.
The investigator pool is a bit shallow right now, so we're trying to build things up. That's about all I've got that's really significant to share this week. 'Until next time!

4. A fairly common practice here. In this instance, there was no risk of rain so that must be protection from the sun.
